Ada Taylor

Ada Taylor, affectionately known as Lady Ada, is the dynamic founder and owner of Deer Valley Home Health Services, Deer Valley Hospice Care, and Ol’ Henry Restaurant and has been a trailblazer for over eighteen years. Possessing a heart to serve, it was no surprise Mrs. Taylor’s career path led to nursing, an award-winning teaching career, and home health administration.

In 2005, she started Deer Valley Home Health Services from her home with two clients. Her keen business sense, coupled with her dedication to helping the elderly and disabled people, caused that number to catapult to well over 1,000 clients. Now, with four locations, North County, Olivette, Maplewood, and Kansas City, Missouri, Deer Valley is continuing its motto of being “Your Leader in Home Health.”

In 2014, to pay homage to her late husband, Chef Henry Taylor, she established Ol’ Henry Restaurant at 8600 Airport Road, Berkeley, Missouri, 63134, “where the food is Taylor-made.” Mrs. Taylor wanted to provide a continuum of care from birth to transition from life, and in 2017, she established Deer Valley Hospice Care, located at 8600 Airport Road, St. Louis, Missouri,  63134.

Deer Valley Hospice Care is only one of two Black-owned and operated hospice agencies in St. Louis city and county. Lady Ada’s leadership style, resourcefulness, and generosity to the community have earned her numerous awards and accolades

over the many years; however, that has never been her motivation.

Serving marginalized communities has been her motivator, and

she wants that to be her legacy.
